About Broden

Broden Ltd was formed in 2022 and is based in Perth, Scotland.

We are an independent electrical contractor providing electrical and renewable energy installations for domestic and commercial customers throughout Perthshire and Central Scotland.

Since forming the business, Broden has grown considerably, with solar PV and battery storage becoming a major part of what we do alongside our traditional electrical contracting work.

Unlike many renewable energy companies, we are electricians first. Our installations are carried out by our own team, and we remain involved from the initial quotation and design through to installation, commissioning and aftercare.

We specialise in solar PV, battery storage, commercial and domestic electrical work and EV charging, with a focus on providing practical advice and recommending systems that actually suit the property and the customer.

Broden is MCS certified, SELECT registered, TrustMark registered and a member of HIES, giving our customers the reassurance that our work is carried out to recognised industry standards.

Being based locally in Perth is important to us. We want customers to be able to speak to the same people before, during and after their installation rather than dealing with a national call centre or sales company.

Dean Brown

Dean Brown

Director

Role at Broden

Managing projects, pricing work, speaking with customers and helping oversee installations — no two days look the same.

Background

Started through an electrical apprenticeship and has been involved in the industry ever since, growing into renewables as the sector expanded.

Most enjoyable part of the job

Seeing projects come together from an initial enquiry through to the finished product. There's real satisfaction in handing over a system completed to a high standard.

Proud achievement

The growth of Broden over the last few years — built on quality installations, customer recommendations and doing things properly. Word-of-mouth referrals continue to be a real source of pride.

Outside of work

Golf, running, the gym and time with friends and family. Also partial to heading away to the sun when the chance arises — though the golf handicap hasn't quite caught up with the hours put in.

Ian Holden

Ian Holden

Director

Role at Broden

Scheduling workload, health and safety planning, meeting clients and pricing projects.

Background

After completing 6th year, wanted a career with hands-on training rather than university — the trades offered exactly that.

Most enjoyable part of the job

No two days are the same. The industry is constantly changing with new technologies emerging all the time.

Proud achievement

The renovation of a school and residential accommodation service for young adults with ASN — coordinating multiple trades to deliver on time and within budget.

Outside of work

Dog walks, occasional golf and eating out. Best career advice received: find a job you love and you'll never work a day in your life.
